Fun, 1-Minute Stress Buster

I often get so stressed and overwhelmed thinking of all the stuff I have to get done each day, that I try to break up the time with daily mini mind vacations. Usually I play Latte Land, one of the other CafeMom games or daydream about a good memory, but today I stumbled across another diversion that was way more fun than my mortgage bill.

BettyPP posted this fun mind game in the CafeMom Newcomer's Club:

"While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it."

Try it! I honestly could not prevent my foot from changing direction. I practiced and withstood stares from my co-workers for a good five minutes before giving up, but long enough to stop thinking temporarily about my daily stresses.

Another mom chimed in with a mind game dealing with colors and the Stroop Effect on a Neuroscience for Kids site -- click the previous link to find it.

Do you have any quick, fun games to add here? Post the links in comments ...
