Here's an interesting dilemma Honestycounts posted about in The CafeMom Newcomers Club: What do you do if you don't like the music playing over the speakers at your gym?
According to Honestycounts, her gym consistently plays a Christian radio station from the overhead speakers. She asked the gym staff to change the station because she is non-religious and thinks it is segregating, and they did; but the very next day when she went back they were playing it again.
In the post, Honestycounts acknowledges that she could put on headphones to drown out the sound. But as a paying customer (with five months left on her gym contract), she felt she had a right to listen to something that is non-religious.
In the grand scheme of things, yes, this is a minor issue; but I definitely know where Honestycounts is coming from. Maybe Christian rock at the gym doesn't offend you, but it could just as easily be something else you truly hate—for example, country or explicit rap. (For me, it would be Nickelback.) As a paying customer, should you have a right to listen to what you want? But what happens if if other customers want something different?

If I went to my gym and they were playing country, I would just put my headphones on and turn them up. I usually take them with me any way, just in case I don't like the selection they are playing that day. A lot of times, I don't even end up hearing the music any way, because I start reading the TV screens.
Yeah a gym really should play a mix of things, after all, they have to please a diverse group of people. Most christians I know dont even like christian rock, hehe.
