A 2,000 plus Calorie Shake!?

I'm not big on calorie counting, but my husband is. Sometimes, when we're in the grocery store together and I'm looking at something, he'll look at the calories listed and shake his head. Grrr! Why is all the good stuff not so good for us?

There is plenty of good stuff that's good for us, too. In fact, there are often alternatives to a favorite food or drink that tastes just as good and is better for us.

Have you heard of the Eat This, Not That! book and series found in Men's Health? (Yes, my husband reads this magazine.)

David Zinczenko, editor-in-chief of Men's Health and author of the book, compares two shakes from Cold Stone Creamery.

Yum! Cold Stone Creamery has fantastic sweet treats!

Cold Stone's Gotta Have It PB&C Shake has 2,010 calories, 131 grams of fat (68 saturated), and 153 grams of sugars. That's more calories than 37 Oreos. (Oooh Oreos...yum. Can you tell I'm hungry?)

Really want that shake? Try Cold Stone's Sinless Oh Fudge Shake instead with only 490 calories, 2 grams of fat, 110 grams of carbohydrates, and 44 grams of sugars.

Check out David's other suggestions on high calorie drinks to avoid, and the better substitute.

I really want one of those Oh Fudge Shakes right now!
