The weekends are never a good time for a diet. Throw in the fact that this weekend is Memorial Day, a BBQ-type of weekend, and that makes counting calories even harder.
But what if you want your beloved cheeseburger (yum), some hot dogs from the grill, baked beans, and even some of mom's famous potato salad?
I've got the calorie count...along with the exercise you need to do to work it off.
Eric Blick, Personal Training Department Head of Berkeley Heights Life Time Athletic, created this guide so you can see what you need to do, depending on what foods you are going to eat.
Note: Numbers are approximate and based off what a 150 pound woman would need to do.
- 1 cheeseburger = 664 calories
That's going to take 2 hours and 40 minutes of Pilates to work off.
- 2 hot dogs with ketchup = 514 calories
...will take 1 hour and 20 minutes of yoga to work off.
- 1 dozen BBQ wings = 625 calories
...will take 1 hour and 20 minutes of rock climbing to work off.
- 1 serving (1 cup) of baked beans = 600 calories
...will take 2 hours and 15 minutes of swimming to work off.
- 10 oz. grilled steak = 522 calories
...will take 1 hour of spinning to work off.
- 1 cup of potato salad = 358 calories
...will take 45 minutes of aerobics to work off.
- 1 ear of corn on the cob with butter = 155 calories
...will take 30 minutes of tennis to work off.
OK...I'm tired just thinking about all of this. How much working out after this weekend will you be doing?

No more then usual, dh didn't want to go anyplace for the weekend so it's just my regular cooking.
I'll be eating everything in sight and not worrying about it one bit.
Ahhh the holidays....a time to eat! LOL
