As mothers we set the example for our children. Through simple observation, our kids learn how to treat others and themselves based on how we act. According to a 2006 survey by the American Psychological Association (APA), women are more affected by stress than men and report engaging in unhealthy behaviors such as comfort eating, poor diet choices, smoking, and inactivity to help deal with stress. So what do you do when you're on the verge of a breakdown?
Newmom28 recently vented in the Advice for Moms group:
"My husband is unemployed and driving me outta my mind! My kids (and I love them with all of my heart) are making me wanna pull out my hair! I can't even remember what I used to enjoy before the kids and husband. Sometimes you just need to get it out and I would much rather do it here than on my family! Did I mention I'm exhausted?"
How do you deal with overwhelming stress? What's your advice?
