I've decided to make Thursday officially "feel good about yourself day." Once a week we should all take a minute and list something we like about ourselves. It could be a favorite physical feature, a personality trait, skills, anything. Don't be shy! Think of it as a gratitude journal written for and by you.

According to "Real Girls, Real Pressure: A National Report on the State of Self-Esteem," commissioned by the Dove Self-Esteem Fund:

  • Seven in 10 girls believe they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members
  • 57% of all girls have a mother who criticizes her own looks
  • 67% of girls ages 13 – 17 turn to their mother as a resource when feeling badly about themselves compared to 91% of girls ages 8 – 12

The more confident we are as women, the more confident we can make our children. Okay, I'll start. I'm grateful for my sense of humor. Without it, I'd take life too seriously.

Now, it's your turn. What do you love about yourself?
