I stay up late for only a handful of reasons. If my kids are really sick, if I stupidly agreed to make dozens of baked good for my kids' class, if it's my birthday, or if it's Oscar Awards night.

That silly, glamorous night of pretension zaps my Zzzzs. On the east coast, it starts at 8:30 p.m., and probably won't end till midnight. For some reason, I can't turn it off. Because, as you know, the world will end if I don't find out who won best Film Editing.

One of my problems is that I just saw Slumdog Millionaire over the weekend, and it really got to me.


That movie was intensely sad and joyous with seriously cool music. Did you see it? Did you have a favorite this year? Here is a list of the Oscar nominees, and be sure to check our Entertainment Buzz for more coverage.

Anyway, just remember that you need your sleep. It does many amazing things for you, like helps you fight off a cold and makes cleaning the kitty litter box less irritating.
