A singer, songwriter, and dancer from Texas is going viral for her parody music video about what a "scary time" it is for men right now. The song was shared soon after Brett Kavanaugh was sworn in as a Supreme Court justice. This confirmation was a disappointment to many women in the US because Kavanaugh has been accused of sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford. In other recent news, a mom "defended" her son in a now-deleted tweet against "radical feminists" and used the hashtag #HimToo, which received heavy backlash. These events have led to women from all over sharing the harsh realities of being a woman.

  • Lynzy Lab Stewart took to Twitter on Monday, October 10 to share the song she wrote called "A Scary Time."

The video of her singing her original song while playing a ukulele currently has over 9 million views on Twitter.

The video has also gotten a shout out from various celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres and actor Mark Ruffalo.

  • The lyrics of the song focus on the many things women do daily in an attempt to prevent sexual assault.

She sings that she can't walk to her car late at night while on the phone, she can't open her windows when she's home alone, she can't go to the bar without a chaperone, and more.

  • And the chorus of the catchy tune is a sarcastic explanation for why men are the ones who have it so hard.

    She sings:

"BUT IT SURE IS A SCARY TIME FOR BOYS

YEAH GENTLEMEN! BAND TOGETHER, MAKE SOME NOISE

ITS REALLY TOUGH WHEN YOUR REPUTATION’S ON THE LINE

AND ANY WOMAN YOU’VE ASSAULTED COULD TURN UP ANYTIME"

  • She wraps up the song with a "realization" that this is "not such a scary time for boys" after all.

She sings that men have "always had the upper hand" and it's time for women to "rise up" and make sure that we vote on November 6.

Lynzy, who is a professional dance teacher, has since shared her song across all of her social media platforms.
