With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, people and businesses all over are finding ways to show their support for those battling breast cancer and those who have survived it. And H&M is the latest retailer making a difference in a really amazing way.

  • H&M has released its Close to My Heart lingerie collection, which features bras specifically designed for women who’ve had a mastectomy.

Shopping for a bra that is comfortable and cute is hard for most women in general, but many of us can't even imagine the struggles of finding a proper bra after having a mastectomy.

And they can be worn by women who haven’t had a mastectomy as well, so anyone can purchase them.

“The bra models have been developed in close collaboration with women who have had breast cancer and removed one of their breasts,” an H&M spokesperson told TODAY Style. “The differences between an ordinary bra and these is that they cover more of the breast and that it has pockets for the prostheses. The pockets are made in a mesh quality for extra support of the prostheses.”

  • The new collection comes in both an everyday microfiber and a pretty lace, and each style is offered in sizes 32A to 38D.

The Close to My Heart collection also has a personal connection for the company as it pays homage to one of its employees who is a breast cancer survivor. She had reportedly expressed having difficulties finding a bra that she truly felt good in.

  • And in addition to the bras, H&M will also be donating 100 percent of the sales from the collection to the American Cancer Society.

"United against breast cancer, H&M and the American Cancer Society are asking you to join the fight in the month of October," the website states. "Help us reach our goal of $125,000 by rounding up your purchase in every H&M Store nationwide and H&M will match up to $25,000 in customer donations."

  • Good work H&M!

Don't forget to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness all month long.
