Although we have seen major strides in Hollywood, fashion, and beauty to be more inclusive in recent years, it is still very obvious that society has a long way to go. People in general still have a very narrow idea about what makes someone beautiful or appealing and oftentimes that has to do with their body size. Although 68% of American women wear a size 14 or above, people still convince themselves that it is a bad thing to be larger than a size 4. This way of thinking is dangerous and simply not true. There is beauty at ANY size, and there are plenty of celebrities to back us up on that statement.

Famous singers and actresses such as Adele, Rihanna, Emma Stone, Rebel Wilson, and Alicia Keys have all spoken up about loving their bodies no matter what size they are. It has to be incredibly difficult to be constantly scrutinized and judged every time they lose or gain a few pounds. It is no secret that tabloids can be harsh -- and social media can be even harsher. So, it takes a brave and confident celebrity to truly accept her body, despite how toxic those industries are known to be. And the beautiful thing about these famous women speaking up is that it encourages us to also feel better about our bodies and learn to accept them.

Of course learning to appreciate one's body at any size is a very personal journey, but when our favorite celebrities spread positivity on the topic, it can only help! Here are 20 celebrities who made empowering statements about body image and loving the skin we're in.

There's a sense that we're all ‘too’ something, and we're all not enough," the actress told Seventeen.
