Thanks to Instagram, we're bombarded with a steady stream of "transformation pictures" that typically depict someone toning up or slimming down his or her body. But the truth is, those photos never tell the whole story, and all we really see is the glorified body on the right side of the screen. However, former body builder Jolene Nicole Jones's transformation photo does have a story -- and it's not the one you'd typically expect.

  • The photo Jones shared shows that her uber-toned and tanned body morphed into a softer, curvier one -- and that she couldn't be happier.

"I went from being controlled by my grueling gym regimen and weighing chicken and having protein shakes in my purse to fully enjoying a social life," she wrote on Facebook. "Some people might say this is 'letting yourself go' but you can't put a price tag on happiness."

  • Despite haters, Jones sees her transformation as something totally positive.

"I call this finding myself and realizing I can have more than one passion in life, whether it's hiking up in Glacier Park or enjoying beers with friends."

  • "A six pack didn't make me happy," she openly admitted.

"I was never enough and always needing to improve. Today I went rafting with friends and enjoyed food the old me would have drooled over and wouldn't have dared to touch."

  • She also imparted some valuable life lessons.

"Your body is quite LITERALLY the only thing that gets you through this life, your worth and joy isn't weighed by what you can lift or what the scale says. My worth is weighed by those I surround myself with and the smile on my face."
