Watching This Eating Disorder Survivor #JiggleWithJoy Will Give You LIFE

jiggling for joy

When you're stuck down in the deepest, darkest hole of your life, it can be nearly impossible to see a light. But after a lot of practice and self-care, you can learn to be your your own sunshine. That's exactly what Kate Speer, better known as "Positively Kate," did to find her happiness -- but it sure wasn't easy.

After surviving years of depression, an eating disorder, and shock therapy that wiped two years from her memory, Speer had been through hell. She had run the gamut of medications and been in and out of hospitals. After intensive work with her doctors, she's reentered the world with a vengeance and honesty. And part of that is sharing her most raw, unedited self with her 11K followers.

Recently Speer posted a video of herself shaking what her mama gave her in a two-piece bathing suit to inspire others struggling with their body image and to combat her own demons.

And her caption was equally inspiring:

"i've been struggling with my beautiful bod this week (and note, I know I have a thin-privileged, able-privileged, beautiful bod even if I can't always feel it to be so) and beating it up in my mind and trying to suffocate it with binging...I'm also saying this for me (and you)...My body is MORE than its appearance. My body is NOT my value. My body is simply the vessel for my god damn fabulous self."

Speer's message is one everyone should try to adopt -- especially in the coming summer months when we feel a ton of pressure to change our bodies. If Speer can combat her demons, you can too!
