Tisha Campbell-Martin Turns Abuser's Apology Letter Into Message of Healing in New Music Video

Tisha Campbell Martin Steel HereMany of us know Tisha Campbell-Martin from her hilarious roles on the TV shows Martin and My Wife and Kids. What we may not have known is that she is also a singer -- and her new song is anything but funny. Campbell-Martin recently revealed that she was a victim of sexual assault as a child and is still healing through her music.

In her new music video Steel Here, Campbell-Martin can be seen with writing painted across her body, as she sings about survival and resiliency.

In a recent social media post, she revealed that the words were from an actual apology letter written to her from the man who sexually abused her when she was just 3 years old.

What a powerful song and a beautiful message of forgiveness. Most of us can't imagine being able to forgive such a heinous crime, but we love that she is able to use her art to become stronger and to help heal herself from the pain of this childhood abuse.

Hopefully this song and video will help other survivors to know they are not alone and that they, too, whether they find a way to forgive or not, can feel empowered once again.
