Kate Hudson Gives Up Sugar After 'Craving It Like an Addict'

Kate Hudson stops eating sugarHalf the battle of eating healthy is being aware of what you're putting in your body and then having the willpower to avoid making bad choices. Actress Kate Hudson revealed that she has stopped eating sugar after she realized she was "craving it like an addict." Oh, Katie, we've been there -- the craving, we mean, not the quitting.

It shouldn't really surprise us that the Almost Famous star is committed to a healthy lifestyle. Heck, she's the cofounder of Fabletics, a line of workout wear. Still, a gal's gotta enjoy a sweet treat once in a while, right? Hudson explains what led her to make this tough choice:

I would say cutting sugar, or at least being aware of how much you are ingesting in a day and limiting it. That was an eye opener for me. I realized I was craving it like an addict around 4 p.m. every day. I would crave something sweet and it hit me how much sugar we really eat.

We hate to admit it, but she's totally right. Who hasn't experienced those late-afternoon pangs for a sugary treat like chocolate, a piece of cake, or a sweet coffee drink that'll give you a quick boost to get through until dinnertime? But let's face it: That initial burst of energy is short-lived and before you know it, you've come crashing right back down again.

In 2014, the daughter of Goldie Hawn lent her likeness to an app, FarmVille 2: Country Escape, in which players could engage with Hudson's avatar and create recipes. We can't help but wonder if the mom of two will be putting out a cookbook soon? Considering her incredibly toned physique and gorgeous glow, we'd read it!
