Woman Has Brilliant Response to Heckler Who Called Her 'Fat' on a Run

When you're trying to lose weight, working out can be intimidating. You can't help worrying that everyone's looking at you and making snide comments about your size. Well, in the case of one U.K. woman out for a run, that's EXACTLY what happened. But lucky for us all, the woman in question had an awesome response for her fat-shamer.

Recently, Lindsey Swift was out for a run with her boyfriend when a man slowed down his car, rolled down his window, and started harassing her.

Apparently, the jerk had so much time and hatred on his hands that he even belted out a not-so-nice version of Mika's "Big Girl (You are Beautiful)."

Seriously? Who DOES that?

Although annoyed, Lindsey initially let the incident go. But the more she thought about it, the more pissed off she became.

"I wondered what in the world would make anyone think they had the right to comment on the size of my body when they know nothing about me," she told BuzzFeed.

And so Lindsey went on Facebook and wrote an open letter to her fat-shamer. It's pretty awesome, starting out with: "An open letter to the idiot who thought it was ok to heckle me with fat jokes on my run yesterday."

Lindsey goes on to assure him, "I am indeed a big girl and I am indeed beautiful. Thanks for noticing....I am not ashamed of my body. It has never stopped me from doing anything I want. My fat body has done things that you, hanging out of the window of your babe-magnet white van, could only ever dream of."

She explained that she's trying to lose weight and training to run a 10K and that it baffles her -- us, too! -- that ANYONE would try to discourage that effort.

"If my fat arse running ... offends you and spoils your journey, try driving with your eyes closed, into a lamp post," Lindsey says, before admitting she forgives him.

It's a brilliant response and we are SO hoping that the fat-shaming guy in question reads it and responds with an apology. (Alas, bullies never do.)

At the very least, we hope Lindsey's response makes him think twice -- or think at all -- about slamming a woman's appearance.

But we actually owe him a thank-you, too -- for introducing us to a gutsy woman who's got a great attitude about her body.
