'Orange Is the New Black' Star Danielle Brooks Stuns in Empowering Gym Selfie (PHOTO)

orange is the new black star danielle brooks With all the pressure "normal" women have to look a certain way, I can't even imagine how intense the pressure is on women who make their living in the public eye. That's just one reason to LOVE this incredibly body-positive selfie from Orange Is the New Black star Danielle Brooks who plays Taystee on the popular Netflix show.

Danielle flaunted her figure at the gym, admitting it was her first time wearing a sports bra in public. But the experience made her want to encourage others to love their bodies.

Check out the snap she shared on Instagram, with an equally inspiring caption.

Hey rs, Today I decided to do something I've never done before: Go to the gym with my SHIRT OFF!! I thought I'd share why this is significant for me. I've always wanted to do this but have felt shameful and have told myself "until my body is perfect I'm forbidden." Today my inner being told me to turn up the notch on my self-love. I should not be ashamed of my body. I'm not a walking imperfection! I'm a Goddess. Secondly, I'm a confident woman! That doesn't stop once I take off my spanx. Lol Sometimes it's a struggle. Sometimes I don't like what I see, but I have the power to change the way in which I relate to my body both physically and mentally. Today I woke up feeling beautiful and motivated to love myself and take care of the ONE body that I've been given. I'm not saying World take your shirt off, twist it round your head, spin it like a helicopter, (lol) I'm saying everyone live in your confidence. One Life. One Body. Take Care of It. YES, all-around! So many of us can relate to this part:

I've always wanted to do this but have felt shameful and have told myself 'until my body is perfect I'm forbidden.'

But what an important reminder to amp up our own "self-love."

And that people can be fit and athletic at any size. Go Danielle, working those curves and her fitness! She IS a "Goddess."

I also love how she acknowledges that you can both have confidence and still sometimes struggle with body image. But no matter which phase or stage or chapter of your life you are in, the key is to love yourself.

Finally, the dimple? The hot-pink sports bra? The pink shoes? There's no denying it: Brooks is stunning -- both inside and out.
