Selena Gomez Has Something to Say After That Fat-Shaming Incident

selena gomezAs far as we know, Selena Gomez hasn't made any follow-up remarks in response to all that fat-shaming ridiculousness that went down last month when she was getting her sun on in Mexico. But yesterday, during a Google Hangout for her new Adidas NEO collection, she did allude to the experience.

Being that the 22-year-old actress and pop singer was among adoring, supportive fans, she wasn't exactly fired up. But when she was asked what the one thing in this world she could change would be, her response was VERY telling.

Selena replied:

Bullying. I'd get rid of bullying. People are so mean, it's exhausting.

True story, woman!

The former Disney star has had to field nasty comments from haters for YEARS, so at this point, I'm sure she's thoroughly fed up with it. You don't have to be famous to feel that way. But it's heartening to hear someone who IS famous speak out about it.

Wish she would've been a bit more specific about what kind of bullying is particularly damaging to young women like her. But hey, it's a start.

And better yet, she went on to turn the crowd's attention to something positive, divulging the following life lessons:

If I'm not enjoying what I'm doing, then I'm doing something wrong. I think life is very, very, very hard and I've never had anything come super easy to me no matter what people may think, and I continue to be the best I can be and I just want to enjoy it. We only have one life and it is very precious, there's a lot that we can do and there's a lot that we should do. If you're good and you're kind to other people and you work hard and you're actually doing something with your life, I think that's so fulfilling.

Cheers to that! She may only be 22, but sounds like Selena already has quite a bit figured out.

How do you feel about Selena's response to bullying?
