Pink's New Confession About Being Fat-Shamed Will Make You Stand Up & Applaud

pink alecia moore BMI pop awardsHaters are gonna hate, but they better not expect Top 40 divas to take their nasty words lying down! After being the target of ridiculous body-shaming last month, Pink is still speaking out about the headline-making incident, telling Entertainment Tonight at the BMI Pop Awards last night, "I don't take well to bullying. I never have."

If it sounds like she's admitting she reacts poorly to it, think again. In fact, the 35-year-old singer explained that she'll be the first one to go to bat against tormentors:

I'm not a person that will be bullied. I'm not a person that will stand by watching other people bullied.

But at the same time, the pop star got at the fact that critics seem to forget that she's a regular person with real emotions. And a mom to daughter Willow, who will be 4 in June.

I'm raising a girl. I am a girl. I have feelings. People think I take no s--t, and I'm tough, tougher than nails, but I'm a human being.

Of course she is! Why is this such a newsflash? Unfortunately, it seems like many people believe entertainers have chosen to lead public lives, so they should always rock their thickest skin and easily deflect whatever nasty comments are fired their way. That's not something Pink's willing to accept.

She set the record straight to ET:

I think people have gotten it wrong. They think their opinion matters and holds weight, and I don't know where or why they're giving themselves so much credit, you know? So I thought it was important for me to remind them that I don't care. My life is full, I like food a lot, and I really like to cook, I like to live. I find joy in that, and we're doing all right in the Hart household.

BRAVO to allll of that. I kinda wish she hadn't sounded defensive, because that only adds more fuel to trolls' fire -- making them think what they said justified a response. But at the same time, she's standing up for anyone who's ever been judged for their outward appearance by someone who has NO clue what goes on behind closed doors. Or how healthy or happy or all-around "all right" they actually are.

She's also standing up for the pleasures of enjoying food, preparing your meals, and living your damn life instead of losing your mind over every calorie or carb. Could I get a "hell yeah" to that?!

So, thank you, Pink! Now that you've set the record straight, time to get back to doing you. Because for every hater, there are a gazillion fans who love you exactly as you are.

What's your reaction to Pink's latest response?
