Jennifer Lawrence Jokes That She Has 'Reverse Body Dysmorphia'

jennifer lawrence at elle women in hollywood awardsJennifer Lawrence has fully earned her reputation as blunt and hilarious in interviews, and now that she's out and about promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, her responses are as eyebrow-raising and unfiltered as ever. In fact, Lawrence is under fire today for comments she made on Good Morning Britain

When the topic of conversation turned to post-production CGI "slimming" of Josh Hutcherson, JLaw interjected that the editors never do that for her. "I have just such an idea of myself where I'm just like a Victoria's Secret model all the time," Jennifer said. "And then when I see the truth, I'm just like, 'What?!'"

The interviewer told Jennifer she is as gorgeous as a VS model. But she assured him that her idea of herself in her mind is way better than reality, joking, "You should see what I look like in my mind. I have reverse body dysmorphia."

Watch it all go down in the clip.

Understandably, there's been a bit of an uproar about Jen's word choice. Not the best. What she really seemed to be getting at is inflated body confidence -- something that way too few women experience. Or at least aren't willing to own up to!

How many of us see ourselves as absolutely stunning and ridiculously sexy in our minds? Okay, even on a rare occasion when we're feeling outrageously fab about how we look in a particular outfit or wearing a certain shade of lipstick? It happens, of course, but not nearly as much as we deserve it to.

More often, we're berating ourselves for anything and everything we can think of. We're not all suffering from body dysmorphia -- a very real, distinct mental health disorder -- but most of us suffer from seriously poor body image, considering that stats show approximately 91 percent of women are unhappy with their bodies and resort to dieting to achieve their ideal body shape.

No doubt we could all stand to think of ourselves as more attractive. Yes, maybe even hotter than we really are -- like JLaw! Ha! After all, don't you think occasional overconfidence would serve us better in the long-haul than constantly being our own worst haters?

What do you think about JLaw's remarks? Have you ever felt like her about your appearance?
