Here are three things every woman should know about mammograms:
1. Get a mammogram once a year after age 40. Start at age 35 if you're at high-risk for breast cancer.
2. A mammogram will only take 10-15 minutes.
3. Mammograms don't hurt, but they can be uncomfortable. To minimize tenderness, schedule it in the two weeks after your period.

I had my first mam this year. I am all growd up now. It really gave me the since of being responsible, I don't want any surprises that will affect my family. I am 38 and not at any particular high risk, but I did tell my Dr. I wanted a complete physical. LOL
