5 Easy Yoga Poses You Can Do Anywhere (PHOTOS)

Ah, work. There is really nothing like sitting all day on your ass, your legs awkwardly crossed beneath you, your torso twisted to the side, your neck bent downwards, to make you feel all light and perky. I mean, to make you feel 100 years old. Sitting is killing you, you know. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to stretch out, loosen up, and limber up, to make you feel a little less achey breaky. Here are 5 easy yoga poses you can do right at your desk. And if anyone looks at you funny, just tell them they are dying, and you're not!

1Downward Facing Dog

This is like the base line of yoga postures. You really can't have a yoga practice without it. Plant your feet and hands about four feet apart and bend over, with your butt high in the air and your head pointed downwards. Try to get your back as straight as possible. This is really great for stretching out the kinks in your spine.

2Upward Facing Dog

Keep your arms straight while you do this one and stretch your back up. Keep your shoulders level to your chest. Keep your jaw soft and your eyes up. I like to do this one with my toes holding my feet up, but most people do it with the tops of their feet flat on the ground.

3Standing Forward Bend

Bend over and touch the ground, keeping your palms flat on the ground (if you can) and your legs as straight as possible. Hold for as long as you can. If you can, grab your big toes with your thumb and forefinger (Big Toe Pose). Keep your head and neck down as much as possible. Then slightly bend your knees and slowly roll up, vertebrae by vertebrae.

4Child's Pose

Spread your knees apart the width of your chest and kneel on the floor. Bend over between your knees, rest your forehead on the ground, and stretch your arms out in front of you. Great way to relax your whole body. Take a few deep breaths.
