Jennifer Aniston has been extremely vocal about raising cancer awareness and research funds, designing t-shirts for Ford Warriors in Pink and directing a short Lifetime film about the disease. But she did NOT go bald in solidarity with a niece who has cancer, contrary to a rampant hoax making its way around the web.
The PhotoShop job showed an image of Jen with a shaved head and read, "Once her hair started to fall off, she was depressed and terrified to look in the mirror. She recently asked me why she wasn't pretty like all the other girls. I didn't know how to react. So I cut my hair off for her. This Christmas, I'll be her mirror." While it sounds like something we really could see the former Friends star doing, multiple media sources have confirmed the post is a total hoax, a doctored pic of Jen at the premiere of Friends with Money in 2006. And knowing that, it's seriously galling.
Way to take something people actually do for cancer and twist it into something completely false! Sure, you might be able to tell it's a fake pic, but still. Hoaxes like this do nothing to bolster confidence in real cancer-fighting campaigns.

I'm not quite sure what the "mastermind" behind this was going for, but I can't see his intentions being anything but cruel. We deserve better than viral lies attempting to pull at our heartstrings. Especially around the holidays and always when it comes to a subject as sensitive as fighting cancer.
What's your reaction to this hoax?
