Christina Aguilera Wants to Set the Record Straight on Her Slimdown

Say What!? 3

christina aguilera amasChristina Aguilera looks better than ever, and not just because she's reportedly lost 35 pounds according to Life & Style (or 49 pounds, according to other sources), but also thanks to a newfound confidence in her skin. While the diva has attributed her more petite physique to healthy eating and yoga, some have guessed her recent slimdown was achieved with liposuction. (I have to say, the thought crossed my mind, too ...) In response, sources from The Voice have come out swinging on the singer's behalf.

"Christina didn’t get lipo. She’s worked hard to change her eating habits, and you can see the results,” one insider claims. Another friend notes: "The last thing Christina wants to hear is that people are talking about her losing weight with liposuction. She’s sick and tired of people assuming things about her body."

I can understand that frustration, but the skimpy (no pun intended) details on how she pared the pounds may have contributed to these assumptions about plastic surgery. Perhaps for that reason, these friends are now gabbing about what Christina is really doing to get and stay fit ...

In addition to eating a high-protein, low-carb diet and cutting back on alcohol (which we heard before and is clearly a wise way to do away with empty calories), she "takes her lunches and snacks with her to work now, so she can watch how much she eats instead of overindulging in anything bad for her." She has the occasional glass of wine, and "eats carbs, protein, snacks like pretzels — she just watches how much she eats,” says a friend. Sounds grounded and practical!

As for her workout, it's yoga, yoga, yoga, which also works to lower her stress. Again, awesome, and lowering stress is a major factor when it comes to weight loss, but hmm, I don't know. Something feels off, cuz I can't see these small tweaks being the whole picture ...

At any rate, Christina "loves her body now. She is really happy," says the insider. Well, it shows! And I hope she got there the right way, because she deserves to be and stay happy and healthy.

Do you believe Christina lost weight as a result of changing her eating/drinking habits?

who cares how she lost it. What matters is that shes healthy now. She doesnt owe anyone anything. If shes keeping mum on how she did it, too bad for everyone else. She probably got tired of everyone calling her fat and she decided to do something about it. more power to her

Don't knock "small tweaks." Walking and yoga may seem low intensity, but they can make a dramatic difference for someone who has been sedentary for a long time. Relatively minor-seeming changes in diet can have huge payoffs, too - switching out just two sodas or glasses of wine per day with water (at a cost of 220-280 calories/day) will earn you a half pound of weight loss each week. Add a few of those 'tweaks' together and you can see how easy it is to potentially cut 5-6 pounds per week, and 40 pounds in two months.

She has always been active and healthy. Her body has muscle memory and with that and the changes made to her diet and exercise she was able to loose weight faster than people who didn't have strong healthy bodies to start from.
