'Mamming' Trend Has Women Putting Their Breasts on Things for a Cause (VIDEO)

All over the country, women are posing for photos with their breasts placed on various objects. This may sound like a post about Kim Kardashian, but I promise it's far from one. These women are putting their clothed breasts on top of counters, benches, and even their pets' heads. This weird trend is called #Mamming, and it's in support of a really worthwhile cause.

Most women would agree that a mammogram, which requires placing your breasts on a flat surface, isn't the most comfortable procedure in the world. But it can detect breast cancer and save lives. In order to raise awareness and stress to women the importance of this screening, Michelle Jaret and Michelle Lamont -- the latter of whom is only 25 and a breast cancer survivor -- started the #Mamming project and created a cute, quirky, and funny video to spark the movement.

If you're interested in getting involved, all you need is a camera, computer, and imagination. Just snap a photo of yourself with your boobs on top of something -- I'm thinking in between a plate of muffins would be very Zooey Deschanel or atop a baby grand piano to add a little bit of class to your picture -- and then post it to your Twitter account with the hastag #mamming. When the questions start pouring in and people begin to ask you what in the hell drug you've started taking, you can use it as your opportunity to talk to them about #mamming and how they should get a mammogram every one to two years if they are over the age of 40.

I admit it's a silly idea, but can it hurt? Lamont says the biggest criticism they receive is: how on earth is this supposed to cure cancer -- something we may all be thinking. But, as she reminds us, prevention is the best cure of all and any campaign that helps get the word out there about mammograms is a positive thing.

What so you think of #mamming? Would you try it?
