There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your hard work pay off. Since his stint on Dancing With the Stars, Chaz Bono had continued his weight loss journey and recently showed off his 60-pound weight loss at the GLAAD Media Awards Saturday. The 44-year-old told People that he's still dancing, but attributes his slimmer figure to what he's eating.
"Diets don't work," Bono said. "Meats and vegetables and fruits are my diet. I make them all different ways to keep it interesting."
Now THIS is my kinda guy. Sure, people lose pounds on diets all of the time. But if you want to live your life -- you're gonna have to make your "diet" your lifestyle. Not a temporary fix.
Clearly Chaz has altered what he eats to fit his lifestyle and feels fulfilled by his choices. There's nothing wrong with making meats, fruits, and vegetables your day-to-day diet, as long as you're not bored and don't feel deprived. I'm convinced if you have animosity toward what you're eating (UGH those dreaded celery sticks AGAIN?!), then the joy in eating disappears. You don't wanna dread eating! You do it too much!
If you're like Chaz, mixing things up every once in a while to incorporate new flavors and recipes into your routine will make you satisfied. The problem occurs when you're not giving yourself enough variety. Dieting doesn't have to be boring. I swear. Through my personal efforts, I found fun, creative recipes on food blogs galore. I reached out to other healthy eaters to see what their favorite recipes are, and learned how to make them on my own. Like Chaz, I refused to be bored just because I wanted to trim down.
Chaz tells People that he's still slowly losing, and to that I say atta boy. When you set your mind to it, there's nothing you can't achieve.
Do you have any diet tips and tricks of your own?
