Faith Hill's Braces Are No Excuse for Dramatic Weight Loss

Faith Hill with Braces

There's no doubting that Faith Hill is drop dead gorgeous. Heck, I've never known a woman to look that good in braces, well, ever. But it seems that those braces may be causing the country singer a BIG problem: dramatic weight loss. At last week's Grammy Awards, Hill showed up looking frail alongside husband Tim McGraw. Nutritionist Dr. Mahid Ali spoke with Radar Online saying that he estimates Hill weighs 115 pounds. WHOA.

Listen, I get it, braces aren't fun at any age. It's very common for adults wearing the mouth gear to drop weight because of how difficult it is to eat with them. Plain and simple, though, Hill is a role model and mother two three awesome kids and having braces is no excuse for becoming this frail. She needs to take better care of herself, STAT.

The thing that frightens me is how little Faith weighs for her 5'9'' height. At 115 pounds, the singer is drastically underweight and it's something she really needs to work on. I had a friend who had braces as an adult, and they drank many a protein shake to supplement the calories they were missing from solid foods. It's all about adapting to the change.

I just hope that she doesn't see the weight loss as a benefit to the braces. Faith has always been beautiful, and in my opinion a skinnier frame does NOT make her look better. Add on 15 pounds, and everything will be better. Not only will she look better -- but she'll have added energy to keep up with her kids.

Do you think Faith is looking too small? Have you ever had braces as an adult?

The whole weight issue thing that everyone is so obsessed with is beyond old. People complain if someone is too skinny or too fat or too whatever. Get the hell over it already and worry about your own lives.

She is not drastically underweight.  "Normal" weight for someone 5'9" is 130.  So she is 15 pounds light.  I have to say that I am 5'9" and I weigh in at 130' I'm a size 6-8.  Granted I had a baby 7 months ago, but before that I weighed 120 and was a size 4-6.  So for her to weigh 5 pounds less than I did at the same height would make her about a size 2-4.  That is nothing drastic.  Lighten up woman, she looks great.

So, you're going to judge this woman based on someone else's guess about her weight. Shallow and mean.

I had braces for 2 years as an adult causing me to lose 20 lbs (I was down to 105 lb). YES it can cause you to lose a lot weight. And a lot of people told me I was "too skinny." Guess what? I couldn't help it. It's just as rude to call someone too skinny as it is to call them too fat, FYI.

I did have braces when I was younger.  Before I got the actual braces on, I had a bite plate, which was a platic plate at the roof of my mouth to help my molars fully grow out.  Because my molars couldn't touch, I had to eat soup and instant breakfast shakes for months, and I lost a lot of weight.  It's not out of the ordinary to lose weight when you get braces.

Have you ever had your mouth jacked with?! I lost 20 lbs in the 2 weeks after I had my wisdom teeth removed. Eating was way over rated when it hurt like hell to chew. Get over it. If it is the braces she'll gain it back after she gets comfortable in them which is nearly impossible. You don't even know if that's what her weight is anyway it was a guess AND she doesn't look frail to me.

As an adult with braces, I feel you're being judgemental. Your mouth hurts, you lose your appetite, you're thrust back into that awkward stage, and honestly protein shakes make me sick. Save the criticism for someone speaking their kids or circumcising their son. (Both of which I support, fyi)

Its none if your busineds what she weighs, she doesn't owe you or anyone else an excuse, and she's a celebrity not a role model.

I think Faith Hill looks normal- may be slimmer than before. May be it's because we are more accepting of 'plus size' or curvy women today that we are judging Faith Hill. As long as her 'blood work' is normal...then in my eyes she's healthy.
If she keeps losing weight, then she's putting her health at risk.
For other people out there...this doesn't mean that it's ok to gain weight either.
Be very careful about gaining and losing weight.
Don't hide behind excuses like 'oh I have curves'...maybe there are hidden fats slowly jeopardizing your health.
And if you lose weight (especially females) and your BMI is below 18.5 (I think) then you're also opening doors for all sorts of hormonal imbalances and other health issues.
Be kind to celebrities:) Take care of YOUR health.
