New Gwyneth Paltrow Cookbook 'It's All Good' Will Totally Make You Feel All Better!

Eye Roll 13

gwyneth paltrow cookbook it's all goodOh my god, are you ready for some amazing news?! Hmmmm?! Well, here goes: Your days of looking like hell and feeling like crap are over, because Gwyneth Paltrow is coming out with another cookbook, and it's all good! No, seriously -- the cookbook is called "It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great." Just when we were about to give up and resignedly accept our collective fate as ugly, fat, fast food-eating slobs! Gwynnie to the rescue!

And lest you think this is just another load of inaccessible, fishmonger-y/overpriced t-shirt Goop, Paltrow's second book du cook was inspired by her own real-life health challenges, harrowingly detailed in the book's description on Amazon ...

Last spring, after a particularly grueling schedule and lapse of overindulgence, Gwyneth Paltrow was feeling fatigued and faint. A visit to her doctor revealed that she was anemic, vitamin D deficient, and that her stress levels were sky high. He prescribed an elimination diet to clear out her system and help her body heal. But this meant no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deep-water fish, no wheat, no meat, no soy, nothing processed at all!

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! The horror!!! How did Gwynnie survive?!

Funny you should ask:

An avid foodie, Paltrow was concerned that so many restrictions would make mealtime boring, so, together with Julia Turshen, she compiled a collection of 185 delicious, easy recipes that followed her doctor's guidelines. And it worked! After changing her diet, Paltrow healed totally, felt more energetic and looked great. Now, in IT'S ALL GOOD, she shares the go-to dishes that have become the baseline for the restorative diet she turns to whenever she feels she needs it. Recipes include: Huevos Rancheros, Hummus Tartine with Scallion-Mint Pesto, Salmon Burgers with Pickled Ginger, even Power Brownies, Banana "Ice Cream," and more!

I know, I know. The very idea of a "boring mealtime" is enough to make me shudder. No wonder Paltrow was concerned! Thank Goop for scallion-mint pesto, that's all I have to say.

Look, I'm sorry for being so snarky. I'm sure the recipes in "It's All Good" really are delicious and probably do make you feel better than the overindulgent fare that makes most of us feel, like Gwynnie, "fatigued and faint." It's just the self-righteous sort of tone that gets me: "Paltrow healed totally!" Like she walked on water or discovered the Four Noble Truths or something. Like Gwyneth Paltrow holds the key to the universe, and it's a Hummus Tartine.

Do you think the recipes in Gwyneth Paltrow's new cookbook will make you look and feel great?

And how does she make huevos racheros without eggs? She must be magical

Give me a fucking break. Really?

Didn't you know she's magic?

Cutting out meat, eggs, and dairy sounds like a good way to become anemic, Calcium deficient, and Vitamin D deficient.

She's been trying to shill this "I'm a chef!" thing for a few years now and it didn't work when she launched her goosh or swoosh or gushy or goopy or whatever stupidly named "better lifestyle" website and it won't work now. She's not a chef and any recipes she has are probably stolen from the chefs she hires or other people. It just doesn't seem like anyone wants cooking (or living) advice from her and she hasn't quite realized that.

Why do you hate her so much? This is like the hundredth article bashing her. I don't get it. Jealous much???

Agree 100% with kelticmom. I don't know whether her recipes will do what they say or not (they probably would), but I DO know the amount of hatred this site has for Paltrow is ridiculous. You do know there are hundreds, probably thousands, of other cookbooks out there that tout the same things, don't you? But they aren't backed by celebrities so there's no need to rag on them, right? Which is it here, do we worship celebrities as if they are the greatest things on earth or do we treat them like they are less than human?

Wow, I don't think you hate her enough...maybe we should take to the streets to protest her helpfulness.

If anyone comes off as self-righteous it's you & others on here bashing her. Her book says she compiled the recipes with a chef, it doesn't say she came up with them all on her own. Why bash someone who seems to be genuinely interested in helping others, maybe she doesn't do it in the way you would like (I guess she should consult you first), but at least she tries. Geesh, what a bunch of bi***es y'all are.

It must work because she looks VERY young in that picture!

I'm not necessarily a huge GP fan, I don't pay much attention to her really. But I can say that clean eating does do all the things she says it does. I try to stick with clean eating and when I'm good about it I feel 10,000% better. Don't hate on it unless you've actually tried it.
