Reese Witherspoon always sounds like she's one of the most down-to-earth moms in Hollywood. And when I met Jennifer Garner a while back, I swore she was by far one of the sweetest movie stars -- and Hollywood moms -- I've ever had the privilege to interview. So it's really no wonder the two of them are reportedly BFFs. And not only that. They're supposedly motivating one another's postpartum fitness efforts.
This is according to Star magazine, of course, so take it with a grain of salt. Or perhaps a grain of sugar? Because Jen and Reese have supposedly bonded over the fact that they both have "a serious sweet tooth," says an insider. "Whenever Reese wants to reach for a chocolate bar, she calls Jen instead, and vice-versa."
Uh-huh, I'm sure these two incredibly successful women who both have really good heads on their shoulders, standing in the middle of their respective posh multimillion-dollar kitchens, can somehow only find the resolve to walk away from a bag of Christmas-colored Hershey's by calling the other. ("Back away from the Reese's, Reese!!") Rrrrright. Sounds a little too adolescent ... and as sweet as she is, Jen's not actually 13 going on 30.
BUT I would believe that the two offer one another moral support and the claim that they go to the same Pilates class together. Maybe even take walks together, maybe trade vegan -- or just super-veggie-packed -- recipes on the fly. And if that's the case, there's no denying their pairing up is a wise move.
Buddying up has been proven again and again to be a brilliant support system for weight loss or even just general fitness. You don't even need to hit the gym together to make the partnership work for you. Even comparing notes on workouts or what you made for dinner last night can help keep you on track. One of my best friends who is going to be a bridesmaid in my wedding and I have been chatting about our fitness efforts for a while now, and it always makes me feel like I'm totally not alone. And there's nothing like feeling like you've got a friend in the same boat to inspire you to go hard.
That said, Reese and Jen already look amazing to me, but if their friendship will help them take their fitness to the next level, more power to 'em!
Have you ever buddied up to get fit?
