Kate Gosselin Runs 10 Miles Every Other Day & If She Can Do It, So Can You

by Emily Abbate on December 4, 2012 at 4:37 PM

Kate GosselinLike every great mother of eight, Kate Gosselin spent her weekend doing a bazillion things. You know, the normal stuff. Kickin' it with her kiddos, getting errands done around the house, running in a half marathon ...

Yup, the reality TV momma and avid runner completed the Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll half marathon over the weekend and revealed to Us Weekly that at her best, she's running 10 miles every other day. WOWZA!

That's some serious dedication. According to Gosselin, her biggest goal with all her kids running around is to get in the most exercise in the smallest amount of time. Well, shoot, it sounds like she's on to something.

I don't know about you, but when I work out, I want to burn the most calories possible ASAP. I'm all about finding effective workouts that make me really feel like I've done something. In other words, I am totally on Gosselin's page.

If Kate can manage to run 10 miles every other day, then the rest of us can manage to do something. It's all about priorities. Kate manages to put both her life at home and her hobby of staying active on the top of her list. Instead of, you know, making that glass of wine a priority after a long day doing a bazillion things -- squeeze in a quick cardio session with a workout DVD or by running your stairs. It's as easy as you make it out to be.

Who knows, maybe soon enough you'll be running in your own half marathon. Hey Kate -- congrats on your second Vegas marathon, complete!

Do you manage to fit working out into your busy schedule?

Kate is OCD and anal retentive.  Of course she runs 10 miles every other day.

Yeah, if I were her age and weight, maybe I could too. I do good to walk through the house. Wait 40 years, give her bad knees and stress incontinence, let's see how much she runs, lol. Seriously, that is great, really wish everyone could do it.

Im 40, sahm of 3 (8, 6 and 11mos) and I run 3-5 miles every day ( yes with my baby in a stroller). I ran my 4th half-marathon a month ago. I'm as committed to my health and well being as I am to my children. it's about setting priorities and my health and giving my kids a good life example are among the top.

She needs to just go away. I couldn't stand her when she had a show and a stick up her but and I have to say ever since she started talking crap about pit bulls because her ex's new girlfriend has one and posted a pic of Kate and Jon's kids snuggling with it, I really hope she falls in a manhole while running her ten miles a day.

Wow, that's a lot of running. No, I haven't done much exercising as of lately but I need to since I have been eating healthier and drinking a lot of water.

Okay, I'm not so much of a fan of KG, but it is possible with two kids who aren't in school and working full time, with a hubby who works full time and is in school. I run mostly at night, after the kids are in bed and while hubby is studying for his classes. I have two half marathons under my belt, but I'm also calling bupkuss on the need to run that much that often. Even the most intense training plan I've seen doesn't call for that type of mileage for a half! (I stick to two middle distance runs and one long run per week...all the others are under 5 miles...)
