When I hear the words "Victoria's Secret model," my thoughts usually are in this order: skinny, beautiful, I hate you. The gaggle of beauties including slim new momma Miranda Kerr congregated for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show here in New York City Wednesday night, and get this -- they were FEASTING in preparation!
I'm serious! Ready to hear about their pre-runway walk meal? Prepare to salivate: Tomato bisque soup, roast beef with creamy horseradish sauce, stuffed chicken, pasta, salad, ice cream, cookies, AND chocolate-covered strawberries. Shoot! Does that NOT just sound like heaven on earth?
So what I'm gathering from this is that it's not all starving yourself and liquid diets after all? What about the other 364 days of the year?
Clearly this was just one day of eating. Here's the thing, though, if these foods are incorporated into anyone's diet the right way, then you, me, the models -- we could eat them all the time. Sounds crazy? It's not, I swear! The key thing here to focus on is moderation. By not limiting your diet to solely things without carbs, for example, you won't crave certain foods.
So what about the rest of the year? Well -- Miranda Kerr is a die-hard fan of yoga. She says that doing a half hour every morning makes her feel good, and that she's also a fan of Pilates and strength training with resistance bands. As for her diet? Mostly comprised of organic foods and vegetables, her biggest tip to women everywhere is to drink plenty of water.
Gisele Bundchen keeps her trim figure with the help of martial arts. Wow! I never would have guessed. She also restricts her alcohol and sugar intake, and eats meat only once every 15 days. Now that's some willpower.
As for Alessandra Ambrosio, the mother of two works out with a trainer who swears by a Brazil Butt Lift class, and supplements the intense workout with Pilates and yoga three times a week. Sounds pretty hardcore.
Last but not least, my personal favorite angel Erin Heatherton stays trim by allowing herself cheat days. Agh! A 23-year-old after my own heart. So what's she splurge on? Bacon, meats, and cheeses. Hey Erin -- now that the show's over, want to get together for a cheeseburger sometime next week?
