Gift Guide: Fitness Addict

The Stir Bloggers

gifts, presentsWhat will you buy for the Fitness Addict in your life?

Check each of the Daily Buzz channels every day this week to find gift ideas for all the different people in your life. This week, here in Healthy Living, I'll show gift ideas for the Romantic, Workout Do-It-Yourselfer, Zen Queen, and Eternal Dieter.

Wii Fit

Product: Wii Fit

Cost: Wii Fit  is $129.99 at Amazon. But to use it, you must have a Wii, 329.89 at Amazon.

Where to Buy: Amazon, Target, Best Buy

Extras: This may not be a brand new item, but it's tops on many a wish list, including mine. (Hint, hint, DH. Are you reading this?) It's so popular that it's out of stock in some stores. Wii Fit Mom's group owner, ComotionGirl, raves about how much fun a Fitness Addict can have doing yoga, pilates, and other exercises on this great gadget.

Why I love It: Fitness Addicts, and wannabe Fitness Addicts can work out easily at home before kids arise or at their nap times. Also, Wii Fit doesn't take up lots of space, unlike a treadmill or other gym equipment. (And other gym equipment is way expensive, too.)

yoga, exercise, workout clothes

Product: Athleta Gift Certificate

Cost: $50 (will cover 1 piece) to $120 (approximate for two pieces)

Where to Buy: Athleta

Extras: Beginner to advanced Fitness Addicts need workout clothes. Most of us buy the cheapest exercise threads we can find, and not usually the prettiest. Altheta is an awesome brand with stylish, functional, full-coverage workout clothes for yoga, skiing, swimming, and more.

Why I love It: This brand is a little pricey, so I'd never buy it for myself unless someone gave me a gift. But oh how I would love to strut around in the gym--or even just my house--in these instead of my old baggie sweats from my high school tennis team days.

Cory Everson 32-pound Dumbbell Set

Product: Cory Everson 32-pound Dumbbell Set

Cost: $55.99 at Amazon

Where to Buy: Amazon, Modell's

Extras: The set comes with a pair of 3 pound, 5 pound, and 8 pound dumbbells, along with a workout DVD. The dumbbells are great for bicep curls, chest flies, lunges, tricep extensions, and a host of other toning exercises.

Why I Love It: I'll be honest, I don't love weights, but I need them. I need to stop using soup cans. Plus, most women do not lift weights enough, and according to Dr. Oz on Oprah this week, strong muscle tone is essential to healthy aging. Besides, these are pretty, fit in a small space, and they come with a rack.

water bottle

Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel

Colored Water Bottles

Product: Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottles

Cost: $14.45 to $27.95 at Amazon

Where to Buy: Amazon, Simple Luxuries

Extras: Plastic water bottles just don't hold up, and they can make home filtered water taste like, well, plastic. These are safe, toxin- and BPA-free bottles. Plus, they're recyclable.

Why I Love It: Such cute colors, I like green. And it comes in all different sizes. Great for the gym, and a lot cuter than my store-bought water bottle.

Stay tuned. I'll be posting great gifts for the Romantic tomorrow.
