Pink Loses 55 Pounds Using Two Key Tactics

Inspiring 26

PinkTalk about a hot mama. Check out singer Pink, who recently lost 55 pounds, on the cover of the November issue of Shape. If that's not the ultimate definition of rocking a bikini, I don't know what is, and good for her.

If you recall, she delivered her daughter Willow Sage last June via c-section, and during her pregnancy, she packed the pounds. She told the magazine, "I ate a lot of cheesecake during those nine months. Also anything sour, Sour Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Key Lime Pie."

While all that eating was surely fun, she said it left her feeling like a "mess" after giving birth.

She recently told Cosmopolitan: "I thought I'd feel like a goddess. They sell you on that s**t ... like you'll never feel more feminine. Really, I just felt like a mess."

Since then, however, she's gotten down to business and lost an amazing 55 pounds ... and not just in a flash either. She's worked hard for that body, using two key tactics -- yoga and a vegan diet, though she did admit to eating chicken and fish occasionally.

She said a typical day includes an hour of cardio and then another hour of strength-training or yoga. So she definitely worked hard for that bod, but it doesn't sound like anything that crazy or extreme either. Instead it seems like she was smart about it, and got some pretty amazing results in the process.

Too often we see gorgeous celebrity moms pop out children and then into a bikini in a couple of hours. And good for them; really, if they can do it, more power to them. That's just not the way it goes for most of us though, and we have to work hard to get those final pounds off. So it's nice to see stories like Pink's that show what it requires for the rest of us. Now if someone could just show us how to find two hours a day to work out while caring for a baby, that would be even better.

Are you inspired by Pink's weight loss?

I love her and she looks great but Ya 2 hours a day when you have an infant is just not possible for most moms. Good for her though!

My daughter is almost 2yrs old and I still have those last stubborn 10lbs to lose! #1 breastfed so much I became underweight and it wasn't until I got pregnant again that I started to gain the weight that I needed. My pregnancy weight was perfect, but she didn't feed as often as my first daughter so I didn't lose as much weight. It's hard trying to find a way to efficiently lose the weight when we're a military family so far away from supportive friends and family. I'm with my girls 24/7.

Why do most Hollywood stars have c-sections? So after the baby is out they can have some lipo and a tummy tuck done at the same time. I'm sure in Pinks case, she did have to work out and diet as well, but a flawless, stretch mark free body (after gaining 55 pounds) isn't realistic without some surgical help.

@kelly walters, i had a c-section with my second child, and my body looks about the same as pink's without surgical help. i have 2 stretch marks that are so tiny, you can barely see them. i gained 65 lbs with my first pregnancy, and 45 with my second. don't just assume that every woman who gets fat during pregnancy, needs surgical help to look good in a bikini. hard work, and palmer's tummy butter is what i have to thank for being a size 4. not to mention, after a c-section, most ethical doctors won't perform a tummy tuck, or lipo at the same time.

I am getting tired of all these recent articles about how easy it was for so-and-so celebrity to lose the baby weight. Let's be realistic, most new mother's don't have trainers, diet experts, cooks and nannies and working out for two hours is just not possible for not only new mothers but any mother, especially once you have more than one child.

My son will be 3 in a few months and I still have these extra 10 lbs hanging around.  i wish I had the time to fit in 1 hour everyday to work out let alone 2 hours!  It's very hard working full time and juggling being a mom.

kelly, i didn't have stretchmarks after my first two kids, and with both was "bikini ready" in a few days - no surgery. affer my last i have a small handful ic stretchmarks that are low enough you won't see them when I'm in a bikini. both the way you gain and lose weight are genetic, as is you predisposition to stretchmarks.

Pinkpaisley, come on. 99.9% of celebrities have c sections. I'm not saying it isn't possible NOT to have a flawless body after gaining 55 pounds on a petite frame. It's just hard for me to believe that every single celebrity (minus Jessica Simpson) just happens to have a c section and just happens not to have one stretch mark and a perfectly flat belly complete with sculptured muscles not long after the baby is born. Of course there is plenty of hard work involved as well, not to mention diet. But let's not be so foolish as to believe these people get perfect bodies without a little surgical intervention.

She looks amazing and I adore her she seems like she'd be an awesome friend. But yeah it must be easy when you have access to trainers, nutritionist and nannies. With a 3 year old and 3 month old twins if I want to work out it has to be at 4 in the morning or 1 in the morning before I finally get to go to bed. Show me women in the real world doing this with no help then I'll be impressed
