kathy batesKathy Bates has beaten cancer once and she's ready to do it again. Years after her 2003 battle with ovarian cancer, the Misery star revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago and recently underwent a double mastectomy.

Though this medical scare hasn't gotten the actress down, which was obvious to fans after her feisty -- and somewhat shocking -- tweets:

I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss Harry's Law. ;-) Thanks for all the sweet tweets. Y’all kept me going.

Another bright spot, according to Bates: unlike her previous bout, she won't need radiation or chemotherapy. "After much consideration, I underwent a double mastectomy," the Academy Award-winner said in a statement to People. "Luckily, I don't have to undergo radiation or chemo. My family call me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception."

Indeed. She's already talking about getting back to the set of her hit crime drama Harry's Law. She is even up for an outstanding actress award at the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on September 23. "My doctors have assured me I'm going to be around for a long time," she said. "I'm looking forward to getting back to work doing what I love to do."
