It feels like Katy Perry is everywhere this summer. And that's because she is! The pop star has been going nonstop -- touring, promoting her film Part of Me, shooting music videos, and recording new music. Being under that kind of stress definitely impacts health, well-being, and oftentimes, weight.
But Katy dished to People that she has a few tricks up her sleeve when it comes to staying healthy on the road. (And believe it or not, none of them entail giving up her favorite foods!)
The pop star dished on foods she enjoyed when she was on the road:
I liked to have a light soup, a piece of grilled chicken, and some quinoa with grilled asparagus for dinner. I always need my daily vitamins, and I loved fresh-pressed juices and coconut water. I also love snacks, but pick healthier options like veggies and hummus, tangerines or Popchips.
Stop the presses! What a revelation! Okay, I kid. But seriously, this isn't exactly rocket science. The woman eats healthy, which is pretty amazing. And of course she had to go and insert her contrived little plug there for Popchips, being that she's the new spokeswoman for the "better for you" snack brand. Funny, being that I'm pretty sure potato chips (even if they aren't fried) aren't really adding much to her super-healthy diet, but whatevs. Good for her for enjoying them and satisfying her salty tooth!
Ultimately, I appreciate her dishing about her healthy habits and noting that she eats protein-rich, whole superfoods like these to boost her immunity and stay energized -- and not necessarily because it's a "skinny" diet. Although I'm sure that is another benefit, as well. She elaborated:
Eating healthy is so important because I can't afford to get sick. When I was on the road, it was very important to eat a balanced meal and to make sure my energy was up for every two-hour show.
Most of us don't have to worry about putting on such physically grueling performances like Katy's, but who couldn't use bolstered immunity and more energy? This totally doable, Katy Perry-endorsed "diet" sounds like a plan to me!
