Laughter Yoga Is Just as Awkward as It Sounds! (VIDEO)

I'll Take That DareWhen we were mulling over our options for season two of I'll Take That Dare, there was one possibility that I immediately knew was a slam dunk:

Laughter Yoga.

That got your attention, didn't it?

For this week's episode of I'll Take That Dare, I took a laughter yoga class -- and the video is seriously unforgettable. It doesn't get much more bizarre than this, friends!

Click through to see it!

You may ask why ANYONE would subject themselves to something so ... awkward.

The reason is pretty simple. Studies show that the body benefits from laughter whether it's real or forced -- your body can't tell the difference. So the point of laughter yoga is to make yourself laugh, even if inside you're recoiling in horror. Not only will you feel better physically and emotionally, but I found that what started out as forced (um, VERY forced) laughter soon became the real thing. I mean, the class is so ridiculous, how can you NOT laugh?

This was one of my all-time favorite dares, partly because the whole time we were shooting the class, the entire crew was laughing too. They couldn't help themselves. It was truly hilarious. Also, this group of people was so nice and so confident in who they were that it was inspiring. If you're new in town and looking for a group of instant friends, laughter yoga class is a great place to start. Think about it -- having a good laugh with someone is an instant bonding experience. You can't leave a laughter yoga class without feeling like you have a room full of brand new pals.

So now that you've seen a laughter yoga class ...

Would you dare try it?

I don't think I'd ever participate in a laughter yoga class but I will try and be silly more often!

May of last year I tried my first Laughter Yoga class. Three weeks later I was a trained Laughing Yoga leader and I have been leading classes ever since. So yeah, I LOVE Laughing Yoga. It's a no-brainer. Laughing Yoga can be counted as exercise! Did you see that? Would you rather go to the gym, do an exercise video, run, walk or laugh for exercise? I LOVE laughing as my exercise, only wish I had more than one class a week.
