Kate Upton Is Not Fat With Floppy Boobs Like Pro-Anorexia Site Says (VIDEO)

by Jacqueline Burt on July 10, 2012 at 4:58 PM

kate uptonLet me be clear: I have nothing against Kate Upton. Was I grossed out when sleazeball fashion photog Terry Richardson made that soft core YouTube video of her dancing in a bikini? Yes, because the whole thing reeked of exploitation and the misappropriation of youth and dirty old men. NOT, however, because Kate Upton looked "fat" in any way, shape, or form. Because despite what some fiendishly self-hating "pro-skinny" bloggers are saying, Kate Upton is not fat!! But perhaps more importantly, the people who seem to think Kate Upton is fat are not okay. They're very, very sick. And their rants about Kate Upton's supposed "floppy" boobs and "huge" thighs and overall "squishy brick" figure are going to end up making a lot of other very, very sick people even worse.

I'm not sure when "pro-anorexia" websites decided they'd stop getting kicked off the Internet if they labeled themselves "pro-skinny" -- or why it seems to actually be working -- but they need to go away. NOW.

Because, while it might not seem that groundbreaking to see a model walking down the runway in a swimsuit who's maybe three or four pounds heavier than the other models, it's kind of a really big deal. Especially if you happen to be suffering from an eating disorder and you're already compelled to compare the contours of your body to those of every other woman you see and criticize yourself accordingly. Look, Kate Upton is thin -- it's not like she represents plus size acceptance or something. But the fact that she doesn't look like she's malnourished and society still says she looks hot in a swimsuit is like one small step for women, one giant leap for women with body dysmorphic disorders.

Seriously. If anything good can come out of this, hopefully it will be the realization that hateful and harmful websites like the one that slammed Kate, SkinnyGossip, still exist and are still screwing with people's heads.

Do you think Kate Upton has "floppy" boobs and "huge" thighs?

She's not fat, her thighs are tiny, and she's not squishy (except her boobs). She does have a brick-kinda shape but she is in WAY better shape that the majority of the people in the United States. And yeah, her boobs are floppy - because they are REAL! I'd kill to have boobs like hers. Well, not kill, but you get what I mean. Better floppy natural boobs than fake-ass hard tits. Breasts are supposed to BOUNCE, not stand at attention 24/7.

Here's the proper link to the Upton-bashing site. Well, all I have to say is those women must lead very sad and shallow lives. How terrible to feel like such shit about yourselves that you have to tear down a kid. YES, a kid. She's barely even 20.

That website is disgusting! I dont mean to bash on women who cant control how skinny they NATURALLY are, but women who strive to be anorexic are something else. The important thing is to be healthy and Natural. Not ready for a heart attack with DD silicone Bags of (supposed) improvement. Kate Upton is a beautiful girl who obviously is doing a wonderful Job at being beautiful Naturally.. If not, there wouldnt be an entire website dedicated to pointing out perfectly unperfect flaws. This is what is wrong with this society!

There are tons of websites pro ana it's very hard to imagine girls wanting to go to these sites but they do tons of young women learn that this is the way to be.

As a member of Skinnygossip I can tell you it is not a pro-ana site. In fact anyone posting about any self harm behavior is directed to get help. Yes the language used on the main page is meant to shock. But the women who post in the forums are genuinely interested in becoming thin in a healthy way. We eat! We just eat to live not live to eat. My eating habits are way more healthy (both nutritionally and mentally) since I joined the site. So before you have a knee-jerk reaction about a site that promotes a thin aesthetic, please actually ask the people who post or who run the site. You might actually learn something new.

Although there was some serious bitchiness in that article (felt inclined to look it up), the website it is on does not seem to be pro-anarexia at all. Bitchiness, yes, but when I scrolled through some of the other articles, the women seemed to be critiquing her so closely because they are looking at her as inspiration for thier own weight loss. I do the same thing with a picture of J-Lo, look at it as an inspiration to keep under 24 Points that day. They are just doing it with some pretty rude language, is all. But there is no way I could accuse them of being seriously ill and having "body dysmorphic orders" and being anorexic because of that. Especially when considering the fact that you are judging those women as horibly, terminally ill and hideously underweight simply for posting a rude article makes you just as bad, if not worse.
