Let me be clear: I have nothing against Kate Upton. Was I grossed out when sleazeball fashion photog Terry Richardson made that soft core YouTube video of her dancing in a bikini? Yes, because the whole thing reeked of exploitation and the misappropriation of youth and dirty old men. NOT, however, because Kate Upton looked "fat" in any way, shape, or form. Because despite what some fiendishly self-hating "pro-skinny" bloggers are saying, Kate Upton is not fat!! But perhaps more importantly, the people who seem to think Kate Upton is fat are not okay. They're very, very sick. And their rants about Kate Upton's supposed "floppy" boobs and "huge" thighs and overall "squishy brick" figure are going to end up making a lot of other very, very sick people even worse.
I'm not sure when "pro-anorexia" websites decided they'd stop getting kicked off the Internet if they labeled themselves "pro-skinny" -- or why it seems to actually be working -- but they need to go away. NOW.
Because, while it might not seem that groundbreaking to see a model walking down the runway in a swimsuit who's maybe three or four pounds heavier than the other models, it's kind of a really big deal. Especially if you happen to be suffering from an eating disorder and you're already compelled to compare the contours of your body to those of every other woman you see and criticize yourself accordingly. Look, Kate Upton is thin -- it's not like she represents plus size acceptance or something. But the fact that she doesn't look like she's malnourished and society still says she looks hot in a swimsuit is like one small step for women, one giant leap for women with body dysmorphic disorders.
Seriously. If anything good can come out of this, hopefully it will be the realization that hateful and harmful websites like the one that slammed Kate, SkinnyGossip, still exist and are still screwing with people's heads.
Do you think Kate Upton has "floppy" boobs and "huge" thighs?

The website isnt pro ana, and she does have a little extra "fluff" in certain areas that would insinuate she isnt healthy, shes eating a burger in a pic for christs sake.
I'm sorry what? I'd LOVE to have her body. I wouldn't flaunt it like she does, but I think she's beautiful and looks healthy.
AnastasiaB, I am sorry but it is a proana site. there is fat bashing but never is anyone too thin. Kate Upton I can understand, she is far from "fat" but she doesnt have the tight body of a model (where the standards are different). however, she does have a fantastic body nonetheless. regardless, a site that states that Kattie Holmes and Kristen Bell have to lose weight and Candice Swansepoel looks fantastic at her rail thin (even amongst fashion model standards) frame, is proana. Girls on the site discuss their BMI's and arent called out when it's lower than 18. The reason so many of the women on these sites are so judgmental is because they are just too hungry to have the mental capacity to be anything but. The women revered on the site are not fit, they are skinny, which is just as bad for your health as being overweight.
This is just disgusting. I got sick to my stomach just reading the article. You would think, in 2012 (as opposed to 1955), that people would know that "skinny" does not equal "healthy." You can be overweight and be healthy. You can be skinny and have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and a whole host of other problems. And if you're doing it to attract men, most real men I know aren't attracted to skeletons. They prefer girls who take care of themselves...which means making sure they're a healthy weight and have a healthy diet.
And there is no way Kate Upton needs to lose weight. I notice the article doesn't give any sources for their information. I do not believe she weighs 150+ pounds. I'd be surprised if she was 125 soaking wet. I think she looks fantastic. She looks HUMAN. And HEALTHY. My goodness.
@ A Young Girl - When there is a site that calls a woman with a healthy weight a "fattie" in the tags for the article, that's a pro-ana site in my book.
I think she is about average, not really really skinny. she looks great. its just sad that so many americans are fat, and think she is a stick.
OMG... I never knew that such a site existed and, after only reading a handfull of comments on a few posts, I already feel awful about myself. Here I am, trying to lose 25-30# but, based on what these "thinspiration" folks believe, I need to lose about 60# to be attractive and "normal."
Does anyone have an extra pint of B&J around? I have some emotions I feel like eating...
