Blake Lively might have one of the hottest bods in Hollywood these days, but apparently she doesn't work for it. When dishing about her "secret" to looking so slammin' and svelte, the actress recently laughed and told Us Weekly, "I eat cupcakes and I don't work out! But if you ask me in ten years, I'm going to regret answering that way now. ... I don't even drink water. It's terrible!"
Isn't that cuuuute? She's naturally blessed with a metabolism that lets her abuse her body! Wow! Doesn't that make you think she's so down to earth and just like us? OR ... does her "confession" make you want to claw her eyes out? I'm in the latter camp.
At least she has the good sense to admit that ten years down the road, she's going to be kicking herself. But she should be kicking herself now for doing such a disservice to other women (young ones especially) with this admission. It sends the completely unrealistic, out-to-lunch message that it's possible to eat junk and forgo exercise and somehow still look like Blake Lively. Suuure. Not to mention that she's passing her unhealthy behavior off as giggle-worthy. It's not -- it's ignorant.
This reminds me of a phenomenon The New York Times wrote about last year in which actresses like Blake make a huge show of their insatiable appetites, even going to great lengths to orchestrate "documented instances of public eating" (D.I.P.E.). They make a point to show and/or tell the public that they just LOOOVE to eat burgers, fries, cupcakes and laze around all day. And whoops -- somehow still manage to squeeze into a size 00. It's supposed to prove to the masses that they don't have an eating disorder and make them more relatable or something like that.
But ultimately, it's a bunch of BS. Love or hate them, at least celeb ladies like Gwyneth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham are real about the ridiculous detoxing, vegan, thrice-daily Pilates lengths they go to look a certain, teeny tiny way ... because it's their job to! Sounds like we can't say the same for Blake Lively.
Do you buy that Blake has such unhealthy habits?

Its actually not B.S for everyone, speak for yourself.
Before I had a baby at 22, I too could eat anything I wanted, never exercised or did anything much but smoke pot (and eat even more), and I could not gain weight. I actually wanted to gain weight because at 5'2" 100 pounds- size 0 pants and XS shirts- I had zero curves and looked like a stick figure. Of course once I got pregnant that all changed, but had I not I know I would still be a skinny minny, eating a whole box of Cap'N Crunch for breakfast.
The thing is, you cant compare the metabolism of a young 20 something who hasnt had kids to those women like Victoria and Gwyneth who are in their forties with multiple pregnancies.
Anything is possible I guess. In my opinion though, it's just interesting for someone to be so toned if they don't work out at all.
I ate like a teenage boy until I was 28 and never got over 105lbs (I'm 5ft) or outgrew my size 2 pants. I had 3 kids by the time I was 25, so it wasn't that I had never been preggers (during which time I did gain weight up to 140lbs with the 3rd). But about a month after my 28th bday I started noticing that I was thickening in the middle and on my thighs, suddendly I had to start eating healthy (not diet, just not burgers and fries almost every day). I turn 32 on Friday and am at a very comfy 115lbs, I don't regularly work out, never did, but I eat more veggies now than then. My father was the exact same way, some times it really is genetics, I get that that sounds obnoxious, but it can (and does) happen.
Or she's a closet dieter (who knows)...
You must have some DEEP rooted self esteem issues, because every other post of yours seems to be bashing another person's body! Some people truly can eat all the junk they want and still look like a goddess. Fair? No. But that's life, hun. Grow up and quit being a mean girl.
