I'm not big into the country scene, but ever since I checked out the adorbs pictures of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's wedding, I've been a Miranda fan. Seriously, any woman who is down for a bouquet made of vintage brooches on her big day is my sorta gal.
The country superstar is looking fabulous on the cover of Self magazine's June issue. Inside she gets personal and talks about how happy she is to NOT be a size zero.
"I feel my best when I'm a toned, not flabby, size 8," Lambert dishes. "I'm a confident person overall. Though like any other girl, I have insecurities."
A woman who is A-OKAY with being a size 8? So. Refreshing. Yup, it's official: my girl crush is full-blown.
Seriously, when was the last time you heard a Hollywood celeb saying A) that they were a size 8, and B) that they were OK with it? If this doesn't show how totally rad Miranda is, then I don't know what will.
Duly noted: Miranda definitely has the right attitude about staying in shape. The country singer is basing how she feels about the way her body looks by how she feels in it. Sure, maybe a size 8 isn't 100 percent teensy. However, being toned and feeling good is 1,000x more important.
Like any woman, my weight fluctuates all of the time. Like Miranda, I'm all about feeling my best despite what the numbers on the scale say. When I eat well and stay active, I feel more energetic and better about my body. It's times like that when sizes and numbers don't matter. What does matter, though, is feeling content.
What do you think about Miranda Lambert's idea of staying in shape?

And I think she could lose some weight...I was amazed that she was still in her 20's. I think the little bit of extra weight ages her. I'm just tired of celebrities "coming out" about their weight saying they're happy with themselves and then next thing you know they have a contract with weight watchers and they've dropped 30 pounds.
A size eight isn't huge either. A size eight is a fairly healthy size. My wife claims to be a size sixteen and I think she looks perfect.
I think she looks great! Whatever size that may be, as long as SHE is happy and healthy then that is what matters; not what anyone else thinks. It's nice that someone is a NORMAL size is coming out and saying she is happy and healthy. She's not some tiny, unhealthy size double zero but she's not some size 20 who's at an unhealthy weight either. WTG Miranda! It's women like this we should be idolizing, not heroin chic models and obese celebrities!
I don't really care what size anyone is but I do get tired of celebrities tooting their horns saying they're this size or that size when they're bigger than I am and I wear a 14. Miranda Lambert is beautiful inside and out and I love her but one of her legs is twice the size of mine and there's no way in the world I believe she wears an 8. Size 8 jeans are NOT that wide. If you're going to be "honest" then really be honest. Unless they all buy a certain type of clothing that's marked just for them. Just like Kirstie Alley wore a 6-8 during her time on DWTS and at the time I was a 16 and was smaller than she was. Just how does that work?
I don't have any clue who she is, but she looks perfectly healthy and fit. But even if she didn't look healthy and fit and still felt great, good for her - I always applaud women for not getting caught up on obscure standards of health and beauty, or comparing themselves to someone else.
And on that note - Jafe - how can you decide from a 2 dimensional picture, that her her thighs are bigger than yours?
i think shes more attractive than most hollywood stars! shes a real women with curves in all the right places. women these days seem to be striving to look like little girls again. only boys like skinny real men like curvy. and im not using curvy as an excuse to be overweight or unhealthly but a woman that works out and doesnt eat like crap and looks like this is real health. its irritating to see so many people aim for "holly wood skinny" , you are just buying in to the bull shit... and the first post on here is exactly what im talking about.... she cant just say wow thats a good looking woman... she calls her out by saying she "could lose some weight." All women do on this site is put each other down whether its their size or parenting.... so much hate. we all need to get a little more self esteem and realize PUTTING OTHERS DOWN DOESNT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF! if anything it should make you feel worse.... and if you cant get the general concept of this then im afraid of what kind of children you are raising
"All women do on this site is put eacother down whether its their size or parenting"
Hypocrit.
On that note, I don't care what size celebrities are, and neither should anyone else. They are not YOU, or ME. We should listen to our own minds, our doctor's advice, and howour body feels. We should not compare sizes with other women. Even if we were all 5'4 and 140lbs like I am, we would all look completely differently based on genetics, bone structure, muscle tone, etc.
Be the perfect YOU. Not the perfect cookie-cutter design.
I love her <3
Girl crush ever since I heard "gunpowder & lead"
I'm not a fan of Miranda's music, but I AM a fan of her attitude. "I love me the way I am". More people should have that attitude. Unfortunately, we have people who jump and say, "You should be skinnier", regardless of whether it would be healthy or not. Sometimes people are meant to carry a little more weight! Good for her. She looks fabulous.
