Kelly Bensimon Says Her 'Supermodel Diet' Will Help Make Us Hot

by Emily Abbate on May 3, 2012 at 12:43 PM

Kelly Killoren Bensimon Is it just me, or does it seem that once you're a celebrity in Hollywood, you're automatically "qualified" to give "healthy advice" if you're slender? Seriously, how many celebs have released "get my body" books?! This time, it's former Real Housewives star Kelly Killoren Bensimon's turn. Her new book I Can Make You Hot! The Supermodel Diet recently hit shelves, and in it she gives advice NEVER BEFORE given to women!! (Can you sense the sarcasm?)

Her HUGE BIG O-M-G TIPS? If you want to shed pounds fast, you should cut out alcohol, salt, caffeine, nuts, sugar, and oil.

Wow. I feel so enlightened. So motivated. So I CAN DO THIS. Wait. No I don't. I feel like this is a load of crock and there's NO way that any woman can live an active lifestyle without those things.

Can I get an AMEN!?

It's not that I don't see the methodology behind this. Yes, if you cut out those things from your diet, I agree with Kelly, you'll likely lose pounds and whoopdeedoo, you'll be skinnier than you were on day one.

However, tell me how any normal woman can live a full life without those things every gosh darn day? Nuts and sugar, especially. Most nuts are FULL of healthy fats! Personally, the healthy fats in almonds are what keep me full for most of the day and prevent me from snacking!

I firmly believe that there are ways to lose weight without completely cutting things out of your diet. Where's the fun in that?! Definitely not for your social life! I respect that this is Kelly's approach, but I say if you really want to lose weight and keep it off, you have to be able to make exceptions. Kelly herself suggests eating things in moderation. I just believe that the things on her "no-no" list should be allowed moderately, too.

What do you think of ridding your diet of certain foods? Could you do it?

Caffeine is good for weight loss, gives you a metabolism boost and helps you go longer and stronger when you work out.

i found healthy eating is just as easy as unhealthy eating BUT it's more expensive. so where do you find the extra money to eat great food every day? if you're a super model already it would be easy.

i don't believe cutting things out of your diet. that's just setting you up for failure. moderation is key.

Kelly's not saying anything that a lot of other diet gurus have been preaching, including doctors!  Now if she had said eat gummy bears before every meal, I might pay attention....I might believe she's crazy as a loon, but it would have gotten my attention!  Here's some never before heard advice for everyone, save your $$$$, don't buy the book!

First AMEN! Next, Kelly doesn't seem to have the healthiest eating habits (jelly beans, gummy bears and beer) Next she has a huge muscle structure (imagine a linebacker wearing a tank top!) And finally, I don't I've ever seen her make, eat, look at a healthy meal with her dates or kids on the show! So she runs in New York traffic, that's just a death wish, pissing off cabbies is not a healthy way to live!

what about Jelly Beans? are they on her diet list of no no's, LOLLL she's crazy, but i'm sure if you did give up what she says, no doubt you'd' be skinnier, there's nothing left worth eating...
