Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show was killer. It's obvious she worked really hard on her performance; not one hair was out of place all night. We all know that Madonna's work ethic is off the charts, but until now, we kinda didn't know to what extremes she went to keep her body in tip-top shape. Sure, we've heard about her Tracy Anderson workouts and her very low-cal diet, but this latest info out of Indy is a little, well, interesting. Apparently, Madonna had hydraulic yoga mat installed in her Indianapolis hotel suite that had a platform that went up the ceiling.
I have no idea what that is, but must get one immediately if not sooner.
If this is Madonna's trick to staying so fit at 53, you know it has to be one of the most amazing pieces of exercise equipment on the market. The source who spilled the beans about this fancy-pants yoga mat also told Us Weekly that Madge had a yoga trainer on staff for her week in Indy and she'd pump up the heat in her hotel room during her workout sessions. Guess the Material Girl likes a good sweat as much as the rest of us.
We're dirt poor compared to Madonna and can't afford to build state-of-the-art yoga machine thingys in our hotel rooms, but it's still important to mind your fitness while you're traveling. As someone who used to travel non-stop for work, I can tell you how easy it is to expense room service and watch TV all night while the running shoes you wistfully packed gather dust in the bottom of your suitcase. But do that enough times and you'll notice how quickly your pre-travel body becomes a thing of the past.
Madonna knows how necessary it is to keep up your workout routine while on the road, and even though we're not rich enough to stay fit like she does, there are little things we can do in our hotel rooms that make a big difference. For example, a lot of hotels these days have a fitness channel on the TV, one that has different work out videos you can do right there in your room. Some even provide weights and a yoga mat in the closet. And most every hotel has a gym somewhere. Walking or jogging on the treadmill for half an hour can really do wonders for your mood and your body.
And if none of that floats your boat, there's always the hydraulic yoga mat route.
