In today's episode of Suzanne Somers Breaking Through on the CafeMom Studios YouTube channel, Suzanne did a one-on-one with Brenda Watson, C.N.C., who Suzanne considers her resident digestive care expert ... and yes, she's also a "poop" pro!

Suzanne points out that moms don't flinch one bit when discussing their kiddos' poop, but when it comes to our own ... well, that's a whole different story. But it shouldn't be! In fact, we're seriously underestimating what our waste can tell us about our well-being.

Brenda points out that many of us -- especially those of us who suffer from constipation -- have inflamed digestive systems, which she adorably calls an "inner sunburn." She attributes this to a serious lack of omega-3s, digestive enzymes (like magnesium and minerals), and friendly bacteria (probiotics). Of course, there are also instances where we're ailing because we have underlying food sensitivities. Everyone's jumped on the gluten-free train lately, because it's trendy, but gluten isn't the only allergen causing some of us trouble. As Suzanne points out, your digestive system might have a problem with a bevy of foods, from pineapple to certain beans to eggs.

And your poop can clue you into a lot of this!! If you're not going two to three times a day, if the color or smell (I know, gross, but it's true) is seriously off, etc., it's basically your body telling you to get your gut aligned!

Pretty amazing, right? I love that Brenda gave an easy, three-step action plan for viewers, too. I already take probiotics, but I've been wishy-washy on my fish oil supplement, and although I always try to chew my food well/slowly, it's something I feel like we could all be reminded to do more often. But now that I know how integral all three of these things are to digestive (and in turn, overall) wellness, I'm on it!

Uh....If I was doing this I would think something was seriously wrong LOL But yes, this is important stuff and it is often overlooked.

Anything from 3 times a day to 3 times a week is normal, so hopefully people don't freak out because they don't poop 3 times a day.

Interesting. I agree with the omegas, probiotics and you need raw enzymes to stay healthy.
