Jennifer Hudson’s Weight Loss Tip Will Win You Lots of Friends

Jennifer HudsonThere's no denying that diva Jennifer Hudson is looking absolutely slammin' these days. The 30-year-old has lost 80 pounds on Weight Watchers and, if you ask me, has never looked better or happier.

Lucky for us, the slim lady was out promoting her new book I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down at a cocktail party with Good Housekeeping last night, and spilled one of her biggest weight loss secrets:

"When I love something, and I know I [shouldn't] eat it all, I love to feed other people."

Shoot. Woman's got the right idea. In fact, I totally do the exact same thing!

Lend me your ears, my friends, and I'll tell you about my magical funfetti blondies. They are cakey and colorful with white chocolate chips, and I promise you, they're amazing. What they are NOT amazing for, though, is my waistline. Does that stop me from making them? Hell to the no. Instead of making a batch and keeping them for my lonesome at home, I'll take them along to the office and share the love. Rather than eating a whole dozen, I'm eating one (OK, or two) and feeling much better. The best part? I still get the satisfaction of indulging in my fave treat!

Like Hudson, I lost a good chunk of weight on Weight Watchers and learned that when you completely remove things from your diet, it makes things worse. Whether it's a blondie or a glass of wine, telling yourself that something is off-limits is going to make you want it more. Not to mention, if you're anything like me and avoid one evil at one point, you'll generally cave on something else (that's usually worse for ya!) later on.

When you lose weight, you want to drop it for good. Being able to eat what you want makes you happier and more functional. Jennifer isn't suggesting that you sabotage all of your friends with the foods you can't eat. Rather, she's saying that if you share a little bit of the lovin' among others, you'll reap the benefits. In my mind -- so will they!
