Jennifer Hudson is looking fiiiiiinnneeee these days. The 30-year-old Weight Watchers spokesperson has lost an astonishing 80 pounds, and is showing off her slender figure in the newest chilling commercial for the weight loss company.
Let me tell you something: this commercial gives me some SERIOUS goosebumps. On the left, we see Hudson performing "I Believe in You and Me" on American Idol back in 2004. Then, thanks to some crafty video editing, a thinner smiling Hudson walks onto the stage and joins in. Finally, the company's slogan "Believe, Because it Works" pops up behind the duo.
I can understand why some people may think it's creepy. Viewers are seeing two of the same woman (who happens to be a new author!) standing next to one another. I, on the other hand, think the commercial is totally inspiring. Especially since comparing your day-to-day weight loss results with where you've come from is one of the most powerful diet tactics out there.
Weight loss is a very personal thing. Unless you are slimming down to improve your OWN happiness, then the results won't stick. When I was working on losing weight (I've lost 70 pounds or so within the last four years), I knew that it was about making MY life better. Sure, others telling me I looked great was a nice rewarding bonus. However, the most rewarding moment of my journey was looking at two different photos of myself taken three years apart at the same location, and seeing how much my hard work has paid off.
I'm not saying that posting a photo of a celeb with a killer body above your desk is a no-no. That can be inspiring, too! But the ultimate motivation tool is comparing your progress with what used to be. Next to that snapshot of say, Sofia Vergara, tack one up of yourself pre-weight loss to remind you where you've come from and where you do NOT want to return.

I saw the commercial last night - it was OK, but personally, I'm getting tired of seeing these weight loss articles about her everywhere lately. She's BEEN talking about her weight loss for months - and yes, it's awesome to lose weight (even that much!!) but enough already! Nobody likes a bragger... and if I had a company backing me and paying for all my meals and gym time, I'm sure I could lose the weight too
I hear that weight watchers is the way to go.
I think she looks great, and I think the ad is inspirational. WW is about the healthiest diet choice out there.
I've never done weight watchers, perhaps I should look into it!
