Brooke Burke Is Crazy to Put Sleep Before Sex

She's not only a host on Dancing with the Stars, but she also has four kids, a husband (sexy David Charvet), a modeling career, a product line (Baboosh Baby!) for moms, and probably a whole slew of other stuff I can't even think of right now. In short, she's a busy woman, and she barely gets enough shuteye. Not too much different from most moms, really. But the way she handles her sleep deprivation is a bit different.

Burke told Fitness magazine recently shared her secret to getting enough sleep, which in turn leads to a healthy sex life, as well as keeping her sanity. Throw all those guesses out the window, because it's probably not what you think.


Burke says she and David sometimes turn to "sleepcations" to get ZZZs. She explains:

We check into a hotel room simply to be alone and sleep. I think that sleep deprivation is a really bad thing for a woman, not only for her skin and eyes but also for her mood, memory, metabolism, energy, and sex drive.

Okay, true that, Brooke, but ... really? Spending money on a hotel room just to "be alone and sleep"? That's so sad!!

It may be a different story for celebs, but whenever I spend hard-earned cash on a hotel, I make a point to do more than just snooze. Yea, of course, those amazing mattresses and linens are the perfect place to get your REM cycle on, but hello -- you also have to take advantage of the space and privacy for other reasons.  If she and David are going to slip away like this, you'd think they'd want to have some adult time ... AWAKE! Sure, they may be sleepy, but sex can definitely be energizing.

What's more, I'm not sure most people can realistically do a "sleepcation." There's probably a helluva lotta planning that has to go into something that sounds so simple. Besides having enough cash to burn on a hotel, you'd need a babysitter if you have kids and the time away from work, etc. And if you have those things, aren't there more productive ways to get your energy back? Like getting a massage or going for a walk with your partner ... 

Maybe I just don't know how to relax, but I think a "sleepcation" seems kinda extreme. More power to those who can do it if they want, but I'll keep searching for another way to fit in my eight hours of unadulterated, unconscious bliss.
