Betty White Proves Bad Girls Live Longer

Betty White

Did you see Betty White at the SAG Awards Sunday night? The girl looks good, and at 89, is sharper and funnier than ANY four 21-year-olds put together. "They had to get the old broad up those stairs and that's not easy," she quipped as she accepted the award for outstanding female in a comedy series and stole the show. But there's nothing old about her; in fact, she's hotter than ever.

So how is it that she's so vibrant and healthy at an age when many others aren't? We're fairly certain she's not a vampire, so what is her secret? Vitamins? Juice cleanses? Fasting?

Not quite ...

Instead it seems Betty White's secret to good health is a really BAD diet. According to her Hot in Cleveland co-star, Jane Leeves, White is a junk food junkie.

"She eats crap," Leaves told Us. "She eats Red Vines, hot dogs, French fries, and Diet Coke. If that's key, maybe she's preserved because of all the preservatives."

Oh Betty, I didn't think it was possible to love you anymore, but now I do. Oprah can keep her vegan diet, I'm going on the Betty White plan. If it works for her, then I'm willing to try it .. for the sake of my health, of course.

Wendie Malick even confirmed White's diet for a fact.

"She eats red licorice, like, ridiculously a lot. She seems to exist on hot dogs and French fries."

I think I've finally found a diet I can live with.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that she feasts on a heaping helping of gratitude either.

"Be a professional and appreciate the business you're in," she said when asked what advice she'd give to young people in Hollywood. "Everybody all over the world would love to be in your business, so don't abuse it!"

And that right there is what I think the real secret is to her vibrancy in old age -- her attitude. She acts young and stays current and active; she doesn't let her age define or limit her. Genetics definitely play a role, as do diet and exercise, but I believe one's mental attitude can and will trump them in many cases. And we all know that laughter is the best medicine. Thanks, Betty, for giving us so many wonderful doses.

What do you think Betty White's secret to such great health at 89 is?
