Michael DouglasAs Michael Douglas faces Stage 4 Throat Cancer, it's a startling reminder of the disease's reality in the world of celebrities who seem so untouchable.

Because it hasn't moved below his neck, he says his prognosis is good. We certainly hope so and hope that he gains inspiration from other celebrities who have fought cancer and won.

Michael C. Hall

The Dexter actor was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma earlier this year, but is now back at work and cancer-free.

Christina Applegate

Just two years ago she was battling a deadly form of breast cancer. She fought a ferocious fight and gave up her breasts in the battle via a double mastectomy. Today she is the picture of health and a glowing pregnant mother-to-be.

Lance Armstrong

Diagnosed with testicular cancer that eventually spread to his brain and lungs, he not only beat it but went on to win the Tour de France seven times in a row consecutively. Today he's one of the biggest fighters of the disease through his foundation, LIVESTRONG.

Sheryl Crow

The singer also battled breast cancer in 2006. Not only did she beat it, but she's doing everything she can to help others beat it as well. Just last month she opened the Sheryl Crow Imaging Center, a state-of-the-art facility for the detection of breast cancer in Los Angeles.

Sharon Osbourne

Talk about resilient, Osbourne has been through it all, including colon cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2002. She's since been declared cancer-free and founded the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai.
