Michaele Salahi of The Real Housewives of Washington, D.C., isn't doing a very good job defending herself against allegations that she's anorexic. In fact, she's raising even more red flags as she rebukes remarks from fellow Housewife Lynda Erkiletian and others.
She recently spoke with In Touch and said the rumors "hurt" her and basically that women are just jealous of her.
"Honestly, I can't believe those women have so much time to devote to my weight. If they get out there and move, they will look like me and be thin, and it'll all be good."
But she does a lot more than just move to maintain her weight. Look at what she says she eats each day:
"I start the day with a hot chocolate and cereal -- I love Lucky Charms or Kashi GoLean -- then some fruit. I don't really eat a lot in the middle of the day. I have an early dinner, which is always a salad, with plain chicken, grilled or broiled."
And ALWAYS a salad.
The Mayo Clinic has a list of red flags for anorexia. The first three are:
- Skipping meals
- Making excuses for not eating
- Eating only a few certain "safe" foods, usually those low in fat and calories
I'm thinking she's three for three.
Based on her appearance alone, I wouldn't have given much credence to anorexia rumors. I know plenty of people that thin who are healthy.
But after reading her own words about what she eats and her obsession with her appearance (she's dying to get "lots of Botox" and plastic surgery), I'm definitely more inclined to believe the rumors.
What do you think about Michaele Salahi's diet? Do you think she's anorexic?
