Angelina Jolie 'Salt' Prep: Lots of Carbs, Anaerobic Training

Angelina JolieWhen you see Angelina Jolie performing the fight scenes in Salt, chance are it's really her doing the work and not a stunt double. 

Her trainer, Simon Crane, recently told Us that Jolie does about 99 percent of her own stunts in movies.

So how did she get in shape to perform the rigorous Salt routines ... and look amazing doing them?


Crane said the actress stuck to a diet made up of 70 percent carbohydrates and 30 percent protein and ate four to five meals a day.

"No junk food, no empty calories, and alcohol only on weekends," Crane said.

As for working out, he had her do anaerobic rather than aerobic exercise so she would gain muscle without losing weight. She also practiced martial arts like Muay Thai and Krav Maga for two hours three or four times a week.

Even with all that training, Jolie still suffered a minor injury while filming Salt, bumping her head after driving through a door.

Crane said she took "a precautionary trip to the hospital" against her will and called her "stubborn."  I call her a badass.
