Hey you attached ladies. Right now, as you wrap up for the day at work and/or put the kids down for a nap and/or return from picking them up from school, your DH/SO/BF is likely out there at the mall/candy store/drugstore/florist picking up approximately $168.74 worth of clothing, jewelry, and other gifts for you for Valentine's Day. That's what the National Retail Federation has found at least. Overall, everyone's expected to shell out $17.6 billion for the Hallmark holiday. Seeing a number like that's probably enough to make you want to stop in your tracks, pick up your cell, and text your man, "NNNNNNOOOOOOO!!! STOOOOP!" ... right? Or maybe not. Maybe you spend the same or more on him?
Doubtful. The NRF also found that $168.74 is nearly double the amount women will spend on their guys. Excuse moi? Is it just me or is that stat totally disheartening? Yeah, I'm all about ladies being treated like royalty by their men, but since when did this holiday become another "her day"?

Now, typically, candy hearts don't get people excited in the slightest: They're cheap and chalky tasting with really lame slogans imprinted on top. But "candy heart rejects" are a whole different story.
Okay, all you Valentine's Day slackers out there! Here's hoping the object of your affection is a Game of Thrones fan, because if he is? You're totally in luck: The most amazing valentine cards I've ever seen are just a click away. (Oh, and if he's not? Why on earth are you with that loser? Dump him immediately!)
Absolutely nothing says Valentine's Day like chocolate. Whether you're a chocolate covered strawberry fanatic or a sucker for molten lava cake, there's a recipe for every kind of mocha lover perfect for today's Hallmark holiday. The best part? Chocolate tastes good whether you're hooked up or flying solo. Who said diamonds were a girl's best friend, right?
Valentine's Day is a day for love, but it's also a day to reflect on love. Are you in love? If so, are you getting the love you want or is there still something missing? If not, could a
Valentine's Day is tomorrow and you're all ready with your homemade chocolate truffles and pink frosted heart cookies and your red velvet cupcakes, right? NO?!? Yeah, me neither. I spent the weekend running errands, cleaning the bathroom, and trying to sort out our growing pile of mis-matched socks.
Valentine's Day is encroaching and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Every year it pops up here in the middle of February, and every year we either clamour for dinner reservations with our lover boys or drink to our single heart's content alone on the couch. I mean, that's what everyone says you do, but really, why would I sit on the couch when lying in bed with my Merlot is so much more comfy and cozy. Please.
Get ready to shower your loved ones in cards, flowers, cute sayings, and of course, chocolate. It's that time of year when we can drink champagne and chow down on sweets in the name of love. I, for one, will totally be getting in on that action. But instead of buying a box of expensive chocolate truffles, I'm going to try my hand at making my own this year.
For the broken-hearted, Valentine's Day is a horror show. It's a day when you just want to call in sick, pull the covers over your head, and rock back and forth humming to yourself until it all goes away. And it will -- in 24 hours! But still, who is looking out for these poor souls? Where is their refuge on this most painful day of the year?
